                The film satires the present scenario of the Manipuri society where the people show indifference to petty works and waste money by engaging paid labourer (especially non-Manipuri) which can be done by them. Two Bihari couple, Das and Dashini comes to Imphal to earn money and stays in a rented room of a wealthy family. The landlord is a drunkard and gambler, the landlady is a socialite and their only son is a drug user. Due to their sick lifestyle they end up mortgaging the house to their hardworking, cunning miser tenant couple, Das and Dashini.  The cunning couple rise up to a rich businessman from small time labourers. Thaja and Malangba’s love story acts as a subplot and goes parallel with the main story.
