Diya Khwairakpam has been in the Manipuri film industry since the celluloid film era as an actor. But with the flow of time he has turned into one of the well known directors.
Thokidagee Kishi is one of his film as a director. The film is about Pamheiba and Manjuri 's struggle to support their families respectively. Manjuri's brother leaves his family under his wife's influence. Then the whole responsibility to look after her old mother and brother who is studying outside Manipur falls under her shoulder. Likewise Pamheiba too has to support his ailing mother and young sister. In order to get the job of teachers makes them act as husband and wife in a boarding school.
The theme of the film is the importance of work culture and family bonds.
